
Murray L. Campbell is CEO of First United Ethanol LLC (FUEL). Mr. Campbell was one of the original members and Chairman of the Mitchell County Research Group which funded the original feasibility study, leading to the formation of First United Ethanol, LLC. He served as Chairman of the Board of FUEL since its inception through January 2008 when he was appointed as CEO.
Mr. Campbell presently owns and operates a 1300-acre farming operation. He has been involved in agriculture since beginning in the farm supply business during high school and college. He then worked for 9 years in the farm management industry. For 17 years, he was a partner in CoveyRise Plantation, a commercial hunting preserve, and Hopeful Peanut Company, a peanut buying point.
Mr. Campbell has served as the Georgia representative and Chairman of the National Peanut Board as well as numerous peanut industry committees. He has been deeply involved in water issues in Georgia serving on several state and regional boards. He has been on boards of directors of cotton gins, farm bureaus, county USDA committees, state tourism and agriculture committees, athletic organizations and the Presbyterian Church.
He has been married to his wife, Deanie, for 34 years and they have three sons and one adorable grandson.
