Michael Roth joined POET in 2001. As the Director of Biomass, Mr. Roth is responsible for developing a reliable and sustainable biomass feedstock to POET Project LIBERTY located in Emmetsburg, IA; the requirement of feedstock totals a minimum of 270,000 tons annually.

During Mr. Roth’s tenure with POET he has held various roles from engineering to research and development to new business and site development.

Mr. Roth was instrumental in the engineering and project management of new construction during a growth phase of POET’s business over the past nine years. He was also heavily involved in the initial development and planning for a demonstration plant built by POET to pilot the technology of cellulose to ethanol.

Mr. Roth holds a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from South Dakota State University, a Master’s degree in chemical engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Sioux Falls.
